MALINGA PADDY DERRICK

During this training, I understood the mechanism of development of resistance one which fascinated me is about the broad-spectrum drugs that allow resistant strains to multiply. The economics surrounding research in development of new antibiotics with the paradox of access and use a reflection occupying my meditation. I learnt the five pillars in the national action plans to fight AMR and systems and design thinking in development of solutions.

Am currently engaged in the celebration of the world antimicrobial awareness week in 2 organizations: REACT university group in collaboration with AMR stewardship club MUST together with Rotary and Federation of African Medical Students’ Association. As a group 5 REACT students, we have developed a project on raising awareness about AMR.

“You and I spread antimicrobial resistance and so is its prevention.” Malinga Paddy Derrick
