The AMRLEP program has been such an awesome experience, with a lot to learn.

Most importantly, I’ve learnt that AMR is a One Health challenge and therefore requires a One Health approach while developing interventions and solutions to it. The One Health approach is simply teamwork of people from different sectors to solve health challenges occurring at the animal-human- environment interface.

Therefore, irrespective of our professions or academic fields, we all have a role to play in the fight against AMR.

Currently, I’m working with a team and we’re carrying out a research entitled, “Prevalence and Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns of Escherichia coli isolated from Raw Cow Milk from Kawempe Division, Kampala, Uganda” as the Principal Investigator. The aim of this research is to fill the knowledge gap since up to know, we have very limited data about AMR and it’s effects and impacts.

“With teamwork, we can fight and defeat AMR”
